E- VISITS – PHONE CONSULTATIONS – NEW PRESCRIPTIONS
Our practice has supported “virtual visits” and use of telephone communication as an extension of our office access. It has enabled us to keep our ‘doors open’ 24/7.
We have had a $30.00 fee in place for e visits but have not consistently billed for this service.
Effective August 1, 2011, we will bill for the following E-Mail and phone services:
Level 1. Phone or email encounters that involve minimal input or decision making and result in a new prescription order. (i.e. antibiotic for urinary tract infection, cream for rash, etc.) Fee $10.00.
Level 2. Phone or email services that involve moderate to high level clinical input and decision making – (i.e. chest pain, abdominal symptoms, headaches, or consultations.) Fee $20.00.
If an office visit is recommended, there will not be a fee for the phone or email service.
Since over 90 % of our calls and emails facilitate scheduling and communication of testing/lab results, this change in our billing policy will not affect most of our communications with you.
Since insurance carriers do not provide coverage for “ virtual visits”, we will bill you directly for these services.

Construction alert –
Construction at the intersection of Glen and University has begun – please allow an extra 5 – 10 minutes for travel time.
For your information – Dr J will be out of the office starting August 10th thru the morning of August 16th.
The office will be open, and Dr J will be available by phone for refills or questions.
